What a fantastic evening we had yesterday celebrating all things tennis in Warwickshire. The awards ceremony had over 120 people attend to receive various prizes and awards, from County Colours, to the Ron Kingsley Mills bursary to our prestigious WALTA Awards.
For the second year running we had an increase in nomination, up 24% on the previous year and our highest number recorded to date! It really does show how much there is to celebrate in Warwickshire. The Awards are about celebrating YOU and what YOU do to allow people to play the sport we all love.
Well done to all our winners, truly deserved and worthy of their awards. The county received so many nominations that it makes it extremely difficult to choose an overall winner, and if you didn’t walk away with the award yesterday it doesn’t take away from the excellent work you have done and the impact it has. The nominations we received were wonderful to read.
A few thank yous we must make!
West Warwickshire Sports Complex, thank you for hosting our event again last night. Nothing is ever too much trouble and the staff were very helpful as always
To anyone who nominated, thank you! You make our awards possible by taking the time to nominate.
To anyone who was nominated, thank you! You make tennis in Warwickshire what it is. Whether a volunteer helping to keep our venues up and running, a coach training our future county team players, a school helping to get more children pick up a racket- we would not be the county we are without you. THANK YOU. The awards do not just celebrate Warwickshire Tennis, they celebrate the individuals that make tennis possible in Warwickshire.
The WALTA Awards take months of preparation, so one final thank you to everyone behind the scenes who worked so hard to put this event together.
We look forward to celebrating again with you all in 2025!
