Warwickshire ladies over-55s team beat Nottinghamshire 4-1 to secure their first win of the summer.

The match was played at Streetly, the home club of Keyna Parkin and Miyuki Karski, who teamed up to make a fantastic county debut. 

In their opening match, they defeated Carolyn Park and Paula Parkinson 6-3 6-1 before narrowly losing in a deciding tie-break to Penny Hiron and Susan Alexander.

Meanwhile, Mel Jennings and Natalie Green worked hard to win their singles matches in straight sets against Hiron and Alexander respectively and went on to beat Park and Parkinson in an enjoyable two-setter.

Many thanks to Streetly for hosting the encounter and to team captain Kate Perkins for giving newcomers an opportunity. The team has two matches remaining, against Oxfordshire and Shropshire.
