We had an excellent weekend down in Eastbourne. As you know im still recovering from an injury so could only play doubles

I had Louise Latimer, persuaded Luisa Cowper to return back to county tennis and then took Harriet Horwitch Smith And Jen Barr to encourage more ladies in this age group and give them the opportunity to play.

However even with Louise Latimer and Luisa Cowper and we need one more strong player for future years to get us into the top division (eg Tamsin, Katie or Claire). We battled hard and ended up on equal wins and rubbers and lost out on the head to head rule for promotion. As you know I played county week for 25 years and take great pride in Warwickshire tennis so want us to do really well down there.

We did take 5 players and Harriet stayed at the parents house so we saved on hotel costs for the 5th player

We stayed in the Cavendish hotel and we didn’t have a good experience- lots of little things weren’t right ( and I know Katie had the same problem for county week)
