Group sessions are split by age group catering for the full LTA mini tennis range running during school term time. They comprise of a wide range of drills and games designed to improve a players fundamental motor and coordination skills aswell as the four key tennis components; Technique, Tactics, Mentality and Physicality. Training in a group environment is a great way to socialise with peers, keep fit and develop a healthy competitive nature and some key life skills. We have sessions for beginners, improvers and advanced players and we look to develop players in more ways than just their tennis.
We also run a games night for our junior players which is a 90 minute session on a Friday evening which is purely matchplay and fun fast paced games. This is the perfect environment in which to hone the skills picked up in our squad sessions and unwind from the stressful school week.
Individual lessons offer a one-on-one coaching environment for more specfic advice and feedback. These lessons enable skills to be covered in more detail and allow for a completely tailored path of development for each player. With this in mind individual lessons can be a fantastic compliment to group sesssions to really nail down key teaching points. We offer a wide variety of Adult Coaching sessions to make sure we meet the needs of all our players.
Our large range of coaching sessions enable players to come along and socialise at West End tennis club whilst improving their skills through the use of fun drills and matchplay. Any player is welcome as we offer beginner and advanced sessions and we have spare rackets on hand if you come down for the first time. Any first session is free and a membership is not required for any of our sessions so come on down and give tennis a try.
A session designed for those who are new to the game or returning to the game to develop the basic tennis skills and coordination through fun and engaging point play exercises. Anyone can turn up and play, no membership needed, just a pair of trainers and the want to learn.
A session designed for those players who have more playing experience and are able to hold a rally and construct points. These sessions focus more on matchplay and tactics for those potentially wanting to play in the club teams.
A session designed for any playing ability where the focus is on fitness. These sessions contain lots of hitting drills, lots of exercise and most importantly lots of music to motivate you when the going gets really tough. Using a multitude of aids including ladders, hurdles, medicine balls and weights you can be sure to get a full body work out whilst improving your hitting quality. Touchtennis is a shortened form of the normal game played on a court with the dimensions of a mini red court with sponge balls and 21" rackets. Believe it or not this is a game for adults and juniors alike offering a fantastically fun and high intensity alternative to normal tennis. With its often prolonged rally length and short sharp direction changes you'll be sure to be smiling and gasping for breath at the end of a point. Club night is a social turn up and play evening. Not a structured coaching session this is a great chance to meet other people and club members and play with a whole host of players. Non-members are welcome on a pay and play basis.
