New Club Logo

You may have noticed in the past few weeks that our website looks slightly different from before...

Wait, there is something yellow buzzing in the top left corner!

We are pleased to confirm that our club logo has been updated! We are in the process of changing this over in our correspondence and promotional materials so keep an eye out for these changes as the season goes on.

So - how did we get here?

The process of changing the logo first started a year and a half ago when our Head Coach Jack initially started in his post. The first steps involved the design competitions that were run at the time to create the West End Wasps design for our junior team players - you may have already seen this bright logo on the other side of your membership key rings for this year.

As part of this process, some of our members submitted a number of designs for our general club logo, which we could not use immediately but rather kept stored with the intention to come back to these when the time was right.

And that right time came along this year with all the exciting new developments we have been working on. The anticipation of the new court fittings in July 2020 provided the Committee with the opportunity to discuss how we want the future of the club to look like, both in practice and visually, as we enter this new phase in its long history.

We asked you, our members, to submit your best designs and ideas to us and from 20 submissions finally drilled it down to the one, designed by our very own Johnny Reeve.  A Dundee & Angus Lecturer Mike Brown kindly then computerised the final version that you will see in front of you each time you access our website. See below for a snapshot of some of the designs we had the pleasure to browse as the other contenders!
