Fun Gala Day Report

A terrific Bank Holiday Monday Fun Gala day this afternoon as kind weather ensured strong numbers and a great success.

Packed courts and the bouncy castle proved very popular throughout.

A big thanks to Nik and Amelia Moran who ran the Ice cream booth with plenty of happy customers and many thanks to The Milk Churn and Roger Fawcus for providing such delicious varieties .

A great effort from Jill Abel who took charge of cake and cuppa’s whilst the fantastic chocolate cake from Sue Perkins arguably won the bake off and proved a hit.

Tim Coverdale was kept extremely busy and no surprise as he was in charge of the chocolate Tombola!!

The Triffitt ladies were in the winners enclosure winning a fist full of goodies!!

Assistant coach Bradley Triffitt was heavily involved offering both football and tennis opportunities as well as grabbling a slice of chocolate cake along the way!

Thanks to Emma Youlden who manned the raffle for a number of goodies including a signed Serena Williams racket. Tickets still available with the draw scheduled for Club Finals day on Sunday October 2nd.

Mike Triffitt organised the competition and thanks to our eight players who produced some eye catching tennis. Very close indeed but congratulations to Peter Seed who ran out a narrow winner after accumulating 16 points. Mick Abel and Jeremy Reddish were joint runners up with 13 whilst Fiona Chantrey was the leading lady, also on 13.

Great to see a busy club with plenty of faces, new and old, enjoying themselves.

Finally special thanks to our Three Musketeers, Charlotte Todd, Jo Coverdale and Angela Crossley who produced a mammoth effort to organise alongside Declan Grogan who set up the music and speakers on the balcony. They were all so busy they managed to evade my camera lol!!!
