Well the last day or so of 2017 and a good time for reflection on the year for our club. Who would have dreamed this time last year we would be in the wonderful position we find ourselves today and a fine new clubhouse as well.

                It was only mid March when Adrian Keen, Nicki Oliver and myself drove up to Newbury to look at a building Nicki had found on the internet. We liked it discussed the pros and cons while we were there and on the return journey, arriving at the unanimous decision it was just right for our club. On the 17th July  many of you were present to see it  official opened. We thank the Parish Council for providing the funds and Nicki for arranging all the services we required and the electric shutters.

               But our biggest thanks must surely go to Adrian Keen and the wonderful coaching team he has assembled, hopefully I don't miss out any names! Ably led by our Head Coach Mike Johnson who has so much enthusiasm it radiates around the courts when he is doing what he does so well- Coaching! To be watching on a Sunday morning when Mike, James Mack, Bash Kara [ What a great name for a Coach! ] and Becky Scott have lots of young members hitting dozens of balls makes you very proud of our club. Well done to all of you and of course Harvey Ford who helps out as well. Not forgetting Kim  his Mum our Level 2 Coach and Committee member who organises  the Seniors on Tuesday mornings.

                All the other sessions are going well too and I only wish I was Twenty years younger to take part in Matches and other evenings but advancing years and tennis elbow unfortunately precludes me, but I can still enjoy watching and helping to make our Club a good Club where everyone gets exactly what they want from it. Especially the Social side!
