During this difficult and challenging time, we would like to give an update from us here at the Tennis club, as to our current position and short-term plans going forward.

Firstly, following Boris Johnson’s address on Monday evening we have had to take the sensible decision to fully close the facility. This has been encouraged by the LTA who have also advised that the club, both indoor and outdoor, should not be accessible at this time.

As frustrating as that may seem it really is in all of our best interests to stay home.

In saying that we understand that, as members, you are paying for a club you cannot currently use. Therefore, we are offering those who would like to cancel their direct debit the opportunity to do that if you choose.

For those who have paid the full membership upfront, we also offer to extend your current membership by the amount of time we need to be closed to help prevent the spread of Covid-19.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the coaches, Bez and Tony, as they have stated they will not be taking their retaining fee from club, whilst its shut, in order to help the club survive through this challenge.

This thanks also extends to all of the people who have been in touch to say they are happy to wave the final three weeks of the lesson block that have been missed due to closure. It really is a touching gesture.

It is support like this that is going to help us come thorough this period stronger as a club.

We will keep you updated with any changes as they happen, but for the meantime, stay safe and we will see you all soon.
