Saturday 28th March saw the club run its pre-season open day at the Willaston courts. Our main aim was to give the local community a taste of our great game and hopefully see further growth in our membership.
The day began with a session dedicated to the youngest players, aged 4-10 years old. No fewer than 36 enthusiastic youngsters turned up, which was fantastic.
Dan and his team battled valiantly against the gale which was now blowing and shifting their court markers all over the place
The weather gradually got worse for the follow-on sessions for juniors and then adults. By the end of the day, half a dozen hardy souls were thoroughly drenched as the heavens opened, but battled on regardless.
Despite the weather, everyone had an excellent time and we have already seen several new members join the club as a direct result.
Thanks again to Dan and the Time for Tennis team and members of the WTC Commitee who also helped out.
