On Thursday evening 8 gallant Willastonians set forth to do battle with Heswall Lawn Tennis Club in the first friendly of the season (in fact the first we've ever played!) 

A tremendous evening ensued of doubles and mixed doubles and we did at least draw one match! Only the descending gloom put paid to our endeavours and at 8.30 we retired into the clubhouse for beers and pizza  

Many thanks to Ian Wilson and all at Heswall for your hospitality and great sportsmanship  we even managed to smuggle one bloke into our ladies' team .
