Ball Machine

Woking LTC now has a Slinger T-One ball machine for use by members of the Club.  It is easily portable and comes with a remote control, oscillating base, telescopic ball tube pick-up and a phone holder (as well as 50 training balls).  You can adjust ball speed, trajectory, frequency of ball delivery and control side-to-side oscillation.  It is great for practicing your ground strokes and volleys and can give you a real workout.

Registering to Access the ball machine
The ball machine is available for use by adult members of the club.  Children under the age of 18 may use the ball machine only under direct supervision of an adult. Players must first register on clubspark (a one-off fee is charged which includes first 1hr booking fee with a 20min induction session), then they will be able to access the booking system. An induction must be completed before making any further bookings (group inductions also available).

By registering for access you must agree to the Terms & Conditions and then the code for the padlock will be provided in the confirmation email (this will be regularly updated, so please lookout for future emails).

Induction Session
After registering, and before using it for the first time, you must attend an induction session to be briefed on how to safely operate the ball machine and how to store it securely for re-charging.

Induction sessions can be arranged with one of the coaches by emailing: headoftennis@wltcc.org.uk

All users must confirm they have watched the instruction video, familiarised themselves with the user guide and agreed to the T&C's before attending the induction session.

Boooking the ball machine via Clubspark
The ball machine must be booked via the Club court booking page together with a court for the same time. A fee of £5/30mins is charged at the time of booking (max 1.5hrs and can be refunded up to 1hr before the booking if you need to cancel. e.g. poor weather).  When using the ball machine please be considerate of players on adjacent courts and do not book the ball machine next to a match.

Storage and Re-charging
After play, all balls must be collected and stored in the hopper. The Ball Machine is stored in the Junior pavilion next to court 15 and secured with a conbination lock.  After use:

  • Switch off the ball machine and ensure the key is placed in the side pocket
  • Lock the bag, oscillating base & ball collection tube back in the pavilion
  • Put the ball machine back on charge
