At last we were able to stop postponing plans – here’s a quick summary of the week’s activities.

Following the meeting on Wednesday 28th July, we have a new committee consisting of:-

Chair – Frances Leaman

Treasurer – Paul Johnson

Secretary – Hazel Dickinson

Ladies’ Captain – Jenny Maddison

Men’s Captain – Alex Dickenson

Fixture Secretary – Chris Davis

The voting for Club person of the year(s) was close, even requiring a second round from which Allison Wallace eventually emerged victorious. Congratulations to all the nominees.

We also managed to hold the Captains’ Charity (Fun) Tournament yesterday.  There was lots of fun had – the weather, tournament organisation and catering arrangements melded beautifully into a great event and it was fantastic to see Wendy who was able to form part of the crowd and hand out the prizes. Huge thanks to everyone who contributed in whatever way to the afternoon.

And possibly the most exciting news………………

We have raised £570 so far for Maggie’s, including cash donations on the day and those on the Just Giving page up to last night.  If there’s anyone who wants to donate but hasn’t got around to it yet, we’ll keep the page open for another week.
