Court Resurfacing Fundraising

Having eked out a long life our courts are now deteriorating and may become unplayable in the next year. At the recent EGM a replacement surface of artificial grass, half-filled with sand provided by En-Tout-Cas was agreed. Several members tried this out: it is long-lasting, low-maintenance, kinder to the knees and more playable in frosty conditions.

To do this we are looking for £15,000 to add to the £40,000 we already have aside. We have looked into various grant funding bodies but, with one exception, we fall outside the categories these cover. The exception is Sport England who may match monies raised through crowdfunding and we have now applied to them. We have also set up Crowdfunding link. It is hoped to achieve the £15,000 by the end of February which will enable us to renew the surface for this season. These donations can be gift-aided. If they are matched we will be able to renew the fencing too.

Our first port of call is of course you, our members, but we also plan to approach the village as a whole. We have not asked for financial support before, but this should ensure the Club's immediate future for everyone who enjoys playing here - happily this includes an increasing number of children. Any contribution, large or small, will make a real difference.

Thank you for supporting our Club and the future of tennis in Aldbourne - please use the Crowdfunding link!
