General Information 2021
The courts are accessed by combination padlocks. The court code is issued in the confirmation email you will receive on booking a court. Clubhouse keys are available at copying cost from the Club Secretary. If you leave the Club, please return the key.
Court booking may be made on the booking page of this website and may also be made via the LTA Booker app for your mobile phone or tablet.
A number of court bookings are available each day for Pay & Play at a cost of £5 per court per 30 minutes. These may be booked up to 7 days in advance.
The clubhouse and courts must be left locked at all times with lights, heaters and other electrical equipment switched off. If you are a parent/guardian who has provided a junior with a key to the clubhouse, remember that you remain responsible for ensuring that this is done. The Clubhouse is currently closed except for emergency access.
Please acquaint yourself with our Rules and Regulations, available on the website and summarised on notices. In particular, you must wear appropriate footwear, leave the premises secure. Remember that if you bring in a non-member, a guest fee must be paid to the Club of £2:50 per 30 minutes. Guest fees are payable via the group booking function on ClubSpark.
Court availability is shown on ClubSpark. Courts should be booked in advance here.
Adult Social Play - Currently suspended
There are three scheduled Open Sessions each week on Mondays at 18.30, Thursdays at 18.30 or 19:00 and Sundays at 14.30, running all the year round. These are very informal and friendly, accommodating a range of standards. Places must be booked in adavance on Coaching page.
Juniors Social Play - Currently Suspended
These run in term-time Mondays at 16.00-17.30. All those above “Mini” age (approx. 9 years & older) are welcome to come. Our coach, Pawel, organises the play and there is no charge; these are not coaching sessions.
Family Play - Currently Suspended
We have allocated priority on two courts for our younger “mini” members on Sundays from 9.30-11.00, to come along and have some fun with others in the family who are members.
For court availability please consult the Weekly Court Schedule which is available on the ClubSpark Website. Members may book courts 14 days in advance.
Adult Continuation Classes
Adult classes/drills will be scheduled and run subject to demand. Bookings must be made on the Coaching page, and the classes are open to non-members. Contact our Coach, Pawel Ewertowski for further information.
Our coach, Pawel Ewertowski, provides private lessons for Juniors and Adults of all levels from Beginner to Advanced and provides a highly stimulating and rewarding experience. You will quickly feel the benefit of his experience, no matter what you think your current tennis is like!
Junior After School Classes
Pawel runs an extensive programme of Junior Classes during School Term Time from Monday to Friday for a range of ages and standards.
Development Squad for Juniors
A squad session (“Advanced Yellow” standard) is run at weekends for those juniors attending Yellow classes in the week and are identified with the potential to move to levels above what can be catered for in the weekday classes.
Junior Holiday Camps
These will be running in the mornings for a variety of weeks during the Spring, Summer and Autumn holidays
NESTLTA and Tennis Scotland
The Club is affiliated by subscription to both the District Association (north East Scotland Lawn Tennis Association) and Tennis Scotland (the Lawn Tennis Association). This provides wider opportunities for development and competition for Juniors and Adults. The Club will endeavour to flag events as they arise but equally you are encouraged to make sure that we are aware on anything that you may hear of.
North East Scotland League Teams and Practice Sessions - Currently Suspended
We have three mens teams and two ladies teams playing in the local LTA League. If you are interested in participating, speak to our Captains, Pawel Wertowski and Fiona Graham and come along to a team practice session. There are also opportunities to play in inter-club social matches such as the Deeside League and the Mixed Social League..
North East Scotland Junior Matches
The Club is seeking to promote and engage in more inter-club junior play. Please contact our Junior Coordinators or our Coach if you are keen for your child to be involved
Monthly Saturday Events - Currently Suspended
We have regular Senior or Junior social events about once a month on Saturday afternoons. They generally take the form of short games, run in a round-robin tournament style where partners are continually rotated. Refreshments and snacks or barbeque are provided and they commence at 13.30 for play at 14.00. Watch the website and Club noticeboards for information on the forthcoming events.
We run popular Box League competitions on a regular basis. These are advertised in our monthly newsletters.
These will take place over weekends at the end of August. For “fun doubles” you simply nominate yourself for the different categories and then, your partner will be selected for you and a handicap awarded depending on your pairing Alternatively, this year we will trial a new “competitive doubles” category in which you enter as your own selected pairing. Please put these dates in your diary because if you are not available over those two weekends, you will not be able to join in the fun!
Annual Prize Giving Dinner
Depending on demand, we organise group holidays with structured daily coaching to a location outside the UK. For the past three years we made pre-season visits to Vale de Lobo in Portugal and to Malaga and La Manga in Spain.
Every member is entitled to free membership of British Tennis (the LTA), and providing they have registered and “Opted In” to the Wimbledon Ballot, they will be eligible to take part in the Club Ballot for Wimbledon tickets. Every year we have a dozen or so very happy members, but the allocation we receive is determined by the number of members who opt-in. Therefore even if you don’t intend going to Wimbledon, please opt-in (it takes a couple of minutes) because this gives the greatest chance of your fellow members getting tickets.
Note that the Club operates a Policy and Procedure for child safeguarding. If you ever have any concerns about an event or behaviour that you have noticed at a club activity, it is incumbent upon you to report your concern immediately to the Welfare Officer, Paul Wilson or other appropriate person as described in the Procedure. Full details are available on our website and posted in the Clubhouse.
Branded clothing is available via an online shop on our website. To keep costs down, orders are made in batches. If you are interested in purchasing some items please note your interest and we will make sure you are informed when orders for the next batch are being taken.
Becoming a Member
If you haven’t yet decided, we will be pleased to meet you and let you have a taster. Membership packages are detailed on this website and may be bought online.
