Recently our Head Coach, Rob Fullagar, travelled to the US Open in New York to work with our British Junior Number One wheelchair player, Ruben Harris.

Rob has been working with Ruben for about 3 years and has travelled around the world working at various tournaments with him. Ruben already has one Grand Slam to his name winning the French Open Doubles and was hoping to win another in New York. Rob spent 4 days in the US hitting on the practice courts next to Carlos Alcaraz, and also had an amazing moment meeting tennis legend Jimmy Connors!

As the tournament progressed, Ruben lost a close Singles Semi-Final to the number one in the world, but fought hard until the end. In the doubles event, Ruben and his partner Maxi played well together, with excellent team work and communication taking them through to the Final.
In another close battle, Ruben came out on top, picking up his second Grand Slam Doubles title!

For Rob, it was an amazing experience to be part of and one of the highlights of his coaching career to date.  A massive congratulations to them both!
