We are delighted to be able to confirm the Sunday 30th January  7 pm Facebook announcement, made by the Hereford and Worcester LTA, that Boughton Park Lawn Tennis Club is the winner of the 2021 Club of the Year award.

This reflects the tremendous amount of work that goes on behind the scenes by so many volunters to make our  Club such a special place to play.

It has been such a difficult couple of years with the CoVid pandemic but throughout people have put so much effort in - clearing the snow, painting the senior and junior pavilions, introducing walking tennis, getting the tennis ball machine up and running, fielding 8 teams in the league, and organising successful social events  being just a few of numerous examples. 

This includes the wonderful coaching team we have here -  they have  made such an impact on our playing standards and in attracting new members - and we know how lucky we are to have them.

The Tennis Committee set out a vision " to be the most popular and friendly tennis club in Worcester, and to actively encourage involvement in racket sports by all people of all ages and ablilites " and it is very gratifying to see that the wider tennis community of Hereford and Worcester acknowledge the progress we have made in achieving this.

A final point - we don't often get the opportunity to say how  proud we are to be part of the Worcester Golf and Country Club.   The Board have backed us up with investment in new courts and facilities and their support has been a key element in restoring BPLTC to its traditional status as one of the premier tennis clubs in the county.
