North East Cheshire Lawn Tennis League 2022. Ladies Doubles Division 4.

Brooklands Ladies 1st team had a good solid result this season finishing safely in mid table position scoring 10 points. We started strong winning 4 matches in a row putting us in 2nd place and a worry to upcoming teams. However in hindsight I believe we drew the weakest teams early in the season. In the last 3 matches we faced the teams all looking to be promoted to Div 3 and all sharing equal points. The lineup of the parings changed a lot due to availability but it was great to see new faces and younger members of the club stepping up into the first team, well done everyone who played!

The ladies SWML team had a mixed year - W7 D1 L8 ending up 6th in the top division. We started the season off strong with the regular winter coaching sessions paying dividends and plenty of players available to select from. We welcomed Paula C to the team who has come over from the dark side (squash)! But as the season progressed we lost a couple of key players to injuries and clashes with NECL matches meant we had to do a lot of juggling between the two teams. Every cloud has a silver lining though and this dearth of ladies opened up the opportunity for three juniors to step up and play for us. So special mention goes out to Shona, Abi P and Abi L for taking the plunge and agreeing to represent Brooklands. We received lovely feedback from the opposition when they played and I look forward to having them in the squad next year. We wish the best of luck to Grace as she leaves us to go to university and we hope she'll be back and play if she can.
