Today saw our annual Club Finals Day. However, it was the first one on our newly refurbished courts. The weather was kind for us and there was a good amount of spectators including a few former members that made a surprise visit.

Congratulations to this year's champions:

Men's Singles: Carl Mulligan beat Chris Riley 6-3, 6-2

Ladies Singles: Christelle Leboe beat Jenny Benge 6-2, 6-2

Men's Doubles: Carl Mulligan & Chris Riley beat Mick Walsh & Tom Walsh 6-3, 6-2

Ladies Doubles: Debbie Balmforth & Christelle Leboe beat Millie Hyde and Jenny Benge 4-6, 6-1, 6-1

Mixed Doubles: Carl Mulligan & Christelle Leboe beat David Grice and Millie Hyde 6-0, 7-5

These results mean that for the first time since 1999, a male and a female have won their respective singles, doubles and won together in the mixed doubles in the same year.

With the summer season now officially over, this would normally be the time when the club goes into hibernation. But with our new courts playable in all weather, it is now time for the cub to begin its first ever autumn and winter calendar.

Lastly, a big thanks to the companies that helped fundraise these new courts and providing the artwork for their banners that have looked fabulous around the courts this season. They looked spectacular during today's finals.
