Dear Members,
Following the Government announcement on Monday we are planning to re-open our tennis courts from
Monday 29th March
General Play please remember to:
- Book your court in advance (up to 14 days) to avoid disappointment & add player names, including guests to the booking to assist with track and trace, if needed
- Limit your booking to one and a half hours, players can play for longer if no-one is waiting and try to avoid leaving odd half hour slots
- Cancel your booking, if no longer needed
Note: The courts are for use by current, paid-up members only (renewal information for 1st April will be issued shortly). Please do not lend your key to non-members or open up courts for them (they are not insured to play) – keys will be replaced with a code from 1st April, refer to renewal information for details
The following guidelines remain in place for all members to remain safe and reduce the risk of spread of Covid:
- Prior to attendance please undertake a self-assessment symptom check for any COVID-19 symptoms: NHS Symptom Checker. IMPORTANT: Do not leave your home to play tennis if Government advice means you should stay at home because you or someone you live with has or has had symptoms of COVID-19, or you are in the most vulnerable category and have been advised to shield from the coronavirus
- Hands are washed both before and after play
- All communal areas are wiped down both before and after play - this includes court padlocks, measuring sticks and winders. Note: members will need to bring their own antibacterial wipes/sprays
- If you are not playing with members of the same household please observe social distancing and avoid any physical contact. Aim to use new balls or spray balls both before and after use
- Balls which go outside of your court are retrieved
- All rubbish is to be taken home
Full guidance on hygiene and social distancing can be found on the NHS and Government websites

Club Sessions Guidance
Should you decide to attend a session we ask that for the safety of all of our members:
- You arrive 5 minutes before the start of the session to sign in and enable the committee member to organise court play
- Hands are washed both before and after play: please continue to bring your own gel/wipes (there are limited supplies at the club)
- Do not share equipment - club balls will be provided
- Avoid touching court equipment - this will be set up for you
The committee members running the session will:
- Wipe down communal areas before and after play - this includes court padlocks, measuring sticks, winders and floodlight controls
- Open the courts and set the net height
- Ensure court gates are hooked open to allow players to move courts if necessary
- Provide new balls or spray used balls with antibacterial spray both before and after use
- Organise players/courts: we may ask the same four to play together for the whole session in order to limit movement between courts (hand sanitizer to be used if court changed). However, If we find that we have more than 12 attendees we will need to consider playing short sets to allow others on court
- The club house will be open for exceptional use only - cloakrooms now have antibacterial soap, paper towels & antibacterial wipes
- Regularly review the running of the sessions, particularly in terms of safety and attendance
