Rules & Etiquette

Court Rules

  • Shoe tags (year appropriate) must be worn at all times when using the tennis courts
  • Suitable soft soled/non-marking tennis footwear must be worn at all times
  • Appropriate attire must be worn on court. Tops must be worn at all times
  • No bicycles, skates, skateboards, scooters or animals are allowed on courts
  • Net cords must be lowered following match play
  • No cigarettes, alcohol or chewing gum are allowed on court
  • Players/supporters to make sure all litter is placed in bins


Match Etiquette

  • In case of line disputes a LET should be played
  • Players should always shake opponents’ hands at the end of match
  • No ball or racket abuse is acceptable and no net jumping
  • No foul or abusive language on court
  • Unsportmanlike, noisy behaviour will not be tolerated
  • Short sets only are to be played if other members are waiting to play. This rule applies to non-booked games



Must be accompanied by a member

Individual visitors can only play a maximum of 3 times per membership year



  • Keys must be kept safe and not lent to visitors. Replacement keys £5.00
  • When leaving the court please ensure you lock the gate
  • Turn off all floodlights
  • If leaving the clubhouse ensure lights, heaters and kitchen appliances are turned off
  • AND ensure all windows AND doors secured.
