April news 2

Hi all, finally a glimpse of sunshine and the forecast for the weekend is lovely.

So time to renew your tennis membership for another great year of tennis, due by 30 April at the latest if not done already. Subs frozen at the same great value for the third year running.  Renew directly online from your court booking profile or the link in the automatic reminders (please choose Gocardless one-off direct debit rather than credit card if you can as it saves the club a bit of money).  You can also renew at the bar with the paper form paying cash, cheque or credit card. For queries see frequently asked questions or reply to this email, there's always a good answer!

The LTA's changed the Wimbledon ballot this year so names are drawn automatically from the club and British Tennis membership lists.  All you need to do is keep your club membership up to date  - so renew online by 30 April at the latest or you could miss out (to be safe 23 April if renewing at the bar).  No other action required, but do watch out for winners emails direct to you from the LTA in late April/early May.

Draining the swamp, it's been a wet spring and the route to the back courts is a marsh.  The sports club's planning urgent drainage work to reduce the problem but it's been too wet to do it - kind of circular, we know.....   We'll be working on the path this summer along with the new courts, but in the meantime hope for sun and the driest route is round the back of the nets.

And you may have seen a lovely memorial bench for Grace Chorley has appeared on the deck.  Thanks especially to Jo Fisher for organising and the little group who chose the inscription.

And please don't forget we have a special Ladies Tennis Open Day this Saturday 14th April 1130-1330 for all comers, so come down and bring your friends.   The regular all-club mixin will carry on from 130 as usual.
