Avon County Young Person of the Year is Alanna Dunne from Kings!

We are thrilled to announce that Alanna has been awarded Avon Tennis County Young Person of the Year!

Alanna joined Kings Lawn Tennis Club a few years ago when her family moved to Bristol from Switzerland. One of the first things Alanna did when she moved to Bristol was join Kings, where her Grandma has played for years, and continues to play.

Alanna talks about the award: “I am so honoured to be chosen as the Young Person of the Year by Avon County Tennis. I love tennis and it means so much to me. Playing tennis at Kings was the first thing I started when I moved to Bristol and I felt like I was part of a big ‘tennis’ family. I love to practice, to play with friends and I also volunteer and coach to allow others to enjoy the sport I love."

This prestigious award celebrates the achievements made by an outstanding individual throughout the past year to tennis in the county of Avon. The extraordinary contribution of these individuals and venues helps to bring fans and players closer to the game we all love. Alanna will receive her award on April 18th at an Avon LTA awards night!

Elly Shearman, head coach at Kings continues: “We couldn’t be prouder of Alanna. She mirrors what we try to create at the club - being friendly and welcoming to everyone, playing with her younger sisters and her dad as well as other peers in the teams.

“She volunteers her time to the club, she has been part of the She Rallies (a programme which aims to empower and expand the number of women and girls coaching and playing tennis across the UK) events and has also gained her level 1 and 2 coaching levels and she does this whilst balancing other hobbies and excelling at school.”

Well done Alanna!
