We have had a successful summer of team tennis with some very close and enjoyable matches. We have teams in both the Woking and Surrey Leagues and many thanks to team captains Janie McCulloch, Richard Jordan, Richard Crowther and Andrew Mendelson for their organisational skills in running all the teams, not an easy job but very much appreciated.

In the Woking League our men’s team played in Division 3 and ended up 3rd out of 6, not far behind the teams in 1st and 2nd place. The ladies’ team played in Division 3A and came a very good second. The mixed team also in Division 3 came 3rd out of 6. In the Surrey League, the ladies’ team drew 3 and won 2 and the men won 1, drew 3 and lost 1. An excellent outcome for all the teams with some very entertaining matches.

For the coming winter season, we are again running a men’s and a ladies’ team in the Surrey League and 2 men’s, 1 ladies’ and 2 mixed teams in the Woking League. During the winter months the matches are played over a 6 month time period so we can run more teams. Here’s looking forward to some good matches.
