On the weekend of 15th and 16th August there will be 2 croquet competitions for members. On Saturday 15th, the Chairman's Bowl event will start in the morning and continue in the afternoon. It is a 14 point Short Croquet event on half size lawns. The number of games you play will be up to you as it is run as an Egyptian format. There is normally a minimum number of games that the contenders have to play in order to win the event.
On Sunday 16th, the Grimshaw Cup will be up for competition. It is a Golf Croquet event, again on half size lawns. This is usually played as blocks and then a knockout following on. It will start at 1:30pm. It is open to tennis playing members as well, so come along and give croquet a go! Basic tuition will be availble from 12:30 if you don't know how to play. Mallets provided. If you wish, bring a picnic for afterwards - sadly, no sharing according to regulations.
Both these events will be run with social distancing rules in place, to help us all feel safe. They are limited to a maximum number, so if you are interested please contact Kevin Ham via email - k6ham@icloud.com
