Club Ground Works

Dear club members,

The weather has been great which has helped work progress on the tennis club. The greatest challenge has been getting materials down our narrow driveway.

Unfortunately the work will not all be done by the end of tomorrow, but we are getting close now.

Practically, this weekend you can park in the parking area, but please be aware it will not be completed yet. If you drive a particularly low-lying vehicle please take particular care. We will not be able to park in the car park the first half of next week. As long as the weather plays ball, we should be finishing up Tuesday or Wednesday next week.

The paths will be done on Monday as long as it is not raining. We have also put in soakaways in the parking area and in the grassy area nearest court 3. Long-term, this will protect the car park and grass areas from water build up in winter. We are planting laurel trees along the fenceline nearest court 1 which will benefit our neighbours as it will block their view of the court fencing and cars that park in the upper grass area. Short-term, there will be some grass areas that need to regrow.

Thank you again for your ongoing patience with these works. Short term pain for long term gain! Thank you also to Pete Bradbury for all his oversight.
