During half term, Boston Tennis Club hosted a Grade 4 event for players from Mini Red age (8&U) to the over 35s. Archie and Elijah Killen-Smith competed in the Mini Red, and Mini Orange (9&U) events respectively. Archie played some fantastic tennis to win his three group matches and, after winning his quarter final match, lost to the number 8 seed in the semi-final. Impressively, he bounced back to win the match that guaranteed him 3rd position overall. Elijah also came through his group with relative ease. As the number 2 seed, he had good wins over the 5th, 3rd and 7th seeds in the last rounds to go all the way and finish as the winner of the tournament.
Other Grantham Tennis Club & Gym mentions go to Polly Cullen, who won the 14&U girls consolation title, and Sophie Dobson, who emulated Archie by achieving 3rd spot in the 9&U girls singles event. Well done, team!
