We’re delighted to announce that the LTA has selected Grantham Tennis Club as one of 50 Local Player Development Centres, forming part of its 10-year Performance Strategy vision for tennis in Britain.

Starting in September 2018 and lasting for five years, the funding will focus on players in the 7-10 years age group and will place us in the top 15 Mini Tennis programmes in the country due to the level of funding received. It will help us to support the players, the programme itself and grow our schools tennis programme even further.

We’ll be helping to recognise the LTA and Performance Director Simon Timson’s ambition “to make Britain one of the most respected nations in the world for player development." Timson said " LPDCs will provide inspiring coaching to kindle young players’ passion for tennis and nurture their potential as people, players and performers. These exciting training environments will help children fulfil their potential and progress to the regional stage of our pathway for champions.”

This is a huge testament to the club, its coaches, the gym coaches, players and parents for their continued support. GTC has always pulled its weight in terms of being a community club but is adding to this with now being part of the LTA’s Player Performance Pathway. 

As ever, we are more than just a tennis club.
