Email sent to all club members on 12th May 2020
Hi All,
Hot on the heels of the last email re playing tennis and booking courts, this email needs to be clear to you about the way in which - for the time being at least - we go about playing tennis at the club.
Today, the LTA issued 3 guidance documents for all Clubs. All 3 of these documents are attached to this email and should be read by all members. They cover:
·The Club (tennis venue)
·Coaching
·Players
The guidelines from the LTA regarding "The Club" (i.e. Hale Village LTC) are generic, so we need to interpret them for our club and add some more specific guidelines. The following points supplement the text in the attached documents.
Venue Management
·In light of the need for safety first, the Committee have decided just to open the Club's courts. This means that, for the time being, the Clubhouse, Toilets and Decking are all closed.
·We will be keeping up-to-date with LTA guidelines and, as these change, so the way in which members use Hale Village may also change.
Facilities
·The toilets will remain closed
·The guidelines say that people shouldn't use the bins, benches or net winders but we haven't actually removed these!
Health, Safety & Hygiene
·We have made supplies of surface cleanser, cleaning wipes, hand sanitiser, disposable gloves and paper towels in the "blanket box" next to the tennis courts.
Equipment
·All players should use their own tennis balls
·There are some used balls in the "blanket box". You are welcome to use these but if you do then please do not put them back
·Dispose of any balls you do not want in the ball re-cycle bin and put any empty cans into the grey rubbish bin with the blue top alongside the entrance/exit path
·If you want to buy some new cans of balls then:
o contact Howell Davies via Whatsapp or text (07922-065521)
o Balls cost £10 for 3 cans (these are the ones purchased for the summer league!)
o Pay money into the Club Bank Account [Sort Code 51-61-11; Account 75118645] and collection will be arranged
Bookings & Payment
·Information on how to book courts has already been communicated and 12 different people have booked courts already
·Given the limits on space, courts and people who will be appearing, to stagger arrival times, we have used 30 min slots on the booking calendar
Regarding the Other LTA Attachments
Coaching: Dave Bryceland will be emailing everyone with how members should access his (1:1) coaching offer.
Players: Would everyone please read the player guidelines before they come to play at the Club - and adhere to them.
Please make a special effort to stay within the key guideline regarding social distancing. In addition we have a lot of close neighbours who may be concerned that we have started playing again. We do want to worry them in any way.
We hope everyone remains well. However, if any member who has played at the club develops symptoms of COVID-19 then you must inform the club immediately.
We will review all of our advice following the Government 's next announcement, or earlier, should the need arise.
And finally, welcome back everyone to playing tennis - we hope you enjoy your time on the courts.
Kind regards,
The Hale Village Committee
