The annual Harrogate League tournament on 14th April had a great turn out from Harrogate Racquets Club.

Many members got through to the later stages and were finalists. Youngsters David Sherwood and Anisha Kant (both age 14) stood out as rising stars!

The Ladies singles final was an all Racquets match with Linda Simpson winning an extremely close match against Anisha Kant 19-17 in the final game! Anisha (age 14) played a brilliant game but Linda’s experience just clinched it.

Joe Wright was runner up in the mens singles in another excellent final that went to all 5 games. Other Racquets winners and finalists: Joe Wright and Dale Ward beat Anisha Kant and David Sherwood (Mixed Doubles); David Sherwood beat Anisha (Under 18’s); Nick Davies/Alan Whittaker and Ian Wright /Dale Ward (Over 60’s doubles); Ian Wright winner over 70’s singles and the handicapped singles beating Anisha.
