Haverfordwest Tennis Club’s young talent headed to the south of the county last weekend for the latest instalment of the Pembrokeshire Junior Tennis Tournament.

Tenby Tennis Club hosted the competition for 7-16 year-olds, and despite some challenging weather conditions, it was a thoroughly enjoyable morning with some high quality matches.

Tournament organiser, Alison Lewis said “The tournament has a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and is a great introduction for the younger players to begin their competitive tennis.

“It was so good to see players put their tennis skills to the test and the standard in some games was exciting to watch.

“It was really lovely to see some new faces play competitively for the first time and gain in confidence as the day progressed, and the friendliness of all the players was so good to witness with great sportsmanship being shown.

“A really good day and I think everyone thoroughly enjoyed it! I’d like to thank everyone for supporting these tournaments and a special thanks to all who helped umpire matches. See you all next year!”

Red: 1st Haverfordwest, 2nd Tenby

Orange: 1st Tenby, 2nd Haverfordwest

Green: 1st Haverfordwest, 2nd Tenby

Yellow: 1st Haverfordwest, 2nd Tenby
