The boys had a great match this afternoon. The teams were very well matched and there was a nail biting finish! In a junior match if it ends 3 rubbers each there is a Shootout. A Shootout requires one player from players 1 & 2 to team up with a player from 3 & 4 to play a championship tie break to 10.
With everything hanging in the balance in hte final doubles, both teams kept a player back in case the shootout was needed, hence a photo of 3 players not the 4 who made up the team.
Henleaze lost the 1st set in the last rubber, 1-6 and the shootout looked on. However, they pulled back to win the 2nd set 6-3. With parents holding their breath the Heleaze boys managed to pull off a win in the Championship tie break.
4 hours after the match started some very weary players headed home a good time having been had by all.
We congratulate you all on a great match, played in the best sporting spirit.
