During this wet season we have had to treat the courts several times against moss and algae. It is costly, time consuming and a battle hard to win- but we think we may have found a solution! Court 2 has now been professionally covered with a huge, weighted court cover. At the same time Court 1 was treated against moss and algae and in the Spring, we will evaluate the result and may decide in the future to cover both courts during the winter. And so begins the Big Experiment, a first for HPTC court care. A huge thank you to our Maintenance team who made this possible because the weekend before installation worked hard on the clubhouse terrace, courts and areas around the courts to remove leaves and dig out moss and weeds. A narrow drainage ditch was also dug outside the chain-link fence, and then the clubhouse cleaned and closed for winter. We would not be able to achieve all this without the commitment of our steadfast volunteers, and we have got everything crossed for the Big Reveal next Spring! Hopefully we will be able to jump straight into Season 2024!
