Ludlow has a strong junior section and several of our adult players started out as juniors in the club. We are a friendly and welcoming club which offers a safe and supportive environment for children and young people to learn the skills of tennis and to enjoy playing the game. Some of our junior members are on coaching programmes, some join to play with friends who are also members, whilst others are members of a Family Package and enjoy playing with their parents.
With over 100 junior and young members and with the support from our coaching company Inspire2Coach, we offer many opportunities for children to take part in the sport of tennis. We have competitively priced membership packages to suit all ages - mini juniors who are aged under 11 (£15), juniors between 11 and 18 (£30) and young players from 18 to 25 (£45). We offer term time coaching and school holiday camps as well as regular events for juniors throughout the year. You may be a parent who wishes to help your child learn how to play tennis so we also have a Parent membership package available (£45).
Juniors and minis who join a coaching programme must join the club, this ensures that we are complying with our insurance and health and safety requirements and it also entitles juniors to play without charge outside their coaching programme. Membership fees enable us to keep the club running with high quality safe courts, lighting, maintenance of the clubhouse and surrounding grounds and car park. Coaching fees are separate and are paid to Inspire2Coach who are an independent company who provide our coaching.
Inspire2Coach offer a variety of coaching programmes to suit all ages and abilities such as Mini Red with individual attention and development in a group of up to 5, small groups for aged 12 and under, training groups for aged 18 and under and 14 and under which offer drills based programmes designed to develop techniques and tactics. But remember that a junior on a coaching programme must also become a member of the tennis club.
The club is dedicated to providing a safe environment for children and young people to enjoy tennis. We are LTA Clubmark accredited, have a Welfare Officer and all our coaches are licensed and CRB checked. Our Safeguarding policy can be found here.
What if your child is not sure about taking up tennis?
Opportunities are available to try out the game before becoming a member or joining a coaching programme. Inspire2Coach offer a taster period and the club can arrange for an adult or child to play as a guest.
