It was a stunningly beautiful day for the Mixed American Doubles Tournament on the sunday of the early May bank holiday weekend.
Fourteen members braved the scorching temperatures to play five rounds of great tennis.
The coolest person had to be the overall winner, Ryan Freestone! Congratulations to Ryan for winning at his first tournament as a member of Medbourne Tennis Club. Congratulations also to Julian Hubbard for coming second and Steve Purnell for third place.
As for the Ladies, Sue Gardiner is truly back in action this year and came first. Joint second place was shared between, Kate Lloyd, Louise Hubbard and Clare Cunningham-Hill.
Each player gave £5.00 to enter the tournament and the total proceeds are to go to the Air Ambulance, the charity chosen by our winner, Ryan.
After all that exercise in the heat, tea and deliciuos cakes were enjoyed by all.
