Medbourne’s first team were delighted to be promoted again, which is 4 years in succession having finished 2nd in the winter league. This will hopefully give us more of the same level of play as in the summer league, which seams more challenging. Thanks to Steve Purnell we gained Paul White from Corby, who has fitted in really well playing with a mix of members with great success. We played 10 players and only lost one match to Oakham our local rivals. We are very fortunate to have some experienced players to partner the youngsters, giving them a great start in their team tennis experience.
I hope to try and fit in some match play with the team during the spring, getting the opportunity to be in the groove ready for the summer season.
Thanks to all who supported the team and their camaraderie. A special thanks to Helen Purnell who kindly provides us with wonderful cakes. Anyone wishing for adult team lessons, James Muir coaches on a Wednesday evening at the club.
