At Mirfield tennis club, the dawn of the new tennis season has come with the change of the guard in the coaching department. Tee (Tawona Moyo ) a popular LTA accredited plus coach has joined us at Mirfield Tennis Club as Head Coach taking over from the retiring Chris White. Joining the coaching team will be assistant Coach Tom Davies, an inspirational young LTA accredited Tennis Instructor. Tom is a very dedicated upcoming young coach who runs some tennis sessions at Batley Centre on top of doing an Architectural degree.
Tee commented, “I make no apology in straight away creating and maintaining a highly sensitive and robust safeguarding infrastructure that excels in promoting safe and secure participation in tennis for all ages and ability. Mirfield Tennis Club has been incredible, the support and guidance of the committee were magnificent with all the makeup of a fantastic OPEN and INCLUSIVE venue. The decision to join Mirfield was therefore probably the easiest to make when the opportunity arose to take up the role. I have been amazed by the incredible response from the parents during the open days and the children were amazing and had smiles on their faces throughout the sessions. I felt safe in the surroundings doing what I enjoy best – delivering outdoor tennis!!”
From the beginning of April, we are excited to launch an ambitious junior development with 2 flagship days covering the full spectrum of junior development based on the LTA YOUTH ball colour scheme (BLUE to YELLOW) from BLUE to Yellow programme on Saturday mornings and Sunday afternoons. We cannot wait to have our junior teams participate in the Huddersfield and the LTA National League as well as local Team Challenge and internal club
championships.
Coming up imminently are the Easter Tennis Camps on Tuesday 12 th and 19 th of April and Thursday 14 th and 21 st of April. The tennis camps will feature lots of FUN through simple drills, games, competition and a host of other activities such as Tennis cricket, rounders; dodgeball and many more. Places will be limited, so hurry and book a place for your child for a great outdoor tennis and multisport experience! 50 % Sibling discount available.
