New Year Tennis Nose Dinner

A big thank you to all who attended the “Tennis Nose” dinner at Ombersley Memorial Hall on Saturday 20 January and gave so generously to raise the grand total of £1675!

Many thanks to all who helped with puddings, setting up and the all important clearing up. Particular thanks to Lynne Larnder and Sue Hughes who helped with the vegetables and were there when we needed them, Jack Tallet for his skills and calmness in the kitchen, and of course the juniors who did an amazing job keeping everyone happy. They were Maddy, Tom and Izzy Rollit, Hannah Sobey, Ffion and Daisy Brighton and James Allison, all efficiently organised by Fran Crick. Thank you for the generous tips which made their first experience of waiting on tables even more enjoyable!

84 people sat down to an “a la carte” 4 course meal whilst being entertained by the Nose’s fiendish tennis-themed quiz and releasing their inner artist on the colouring competition which was judged by the waiting juniors. Iris Checketts was the clear winner and her masterpiece will be framed and put in the new clubhouse. Lynne Larnder’s table won the Quiz.

The main prize in the raffle was a magnum of Champagne won by Iris Checketts. Thank you to everyone who donated prizes. The raffle raised an amazing £355

Everyone agreed the evening had been a great success, both as a social event and in raising money for the new clubhouse.

Thank you to everyone who contributed.
