Chairman’s Report
This year we welcomed our new coach, Graham MacTaggart, who introduced a number of Adult and Junior coaching sessions thoroughout the summer and winter months.
We entered 9 teams into the Wirral Leagues and Competions with the following results :-
- Men’s Winter League 2015- 2016
- Oxton A (captain: Matt Webb) came 9th In Division 2
- Women’s Winter League 2015 - 2016
- Oxton A captain: Becky Lindesay)
- Oxton B captain: Claire Lester) came in Division 3
- Mixed Summer League 2016
- Oxton 1 (captain: Matt Webb) came 1st in Division 3 and were promoted to Div 2.
- Oxton 2 (captain: Jackie Snell) came 3 rd in Division 4
- Oxton 3 (captain: Zoe Morris) came 4th in Division 6
- Men’s Summer League 2016
- Oxton 1 (captain: Matt Webb) came 2nd in Div 2 and won the play offs and were promoted to Div 1.

The Internal Club Tournament was held this year with the finals day held on 11th September. The winners were:-

A number of social Sunday tournaments were held throughout the summer and the summer season was ended with a Presentation night featuring the debut outing of Abbasolutely Fabulous.
On the property front, a new kitchen was installed, courts were cleaned and more benches were bought.
Looking ahead we will enter 4 mixed teams in next seasons Wirral Mixed League, 2 men’s summer, 1 ladies summer team and a Friendly team.
A number of events will be held with the intention of fundraising for floodlights, Saturday Afternoon tennis and Sunday Social Tennis Tournaments will be continued.
Financial Report
Tennis section account total : £3848 as at November 2016 (no o/s payments in or out due) up from £2720 as at November 2015.
This increase is mainly from the Lashing’s BBQ and cake stall (£466), match fees from Men’s and Ladies summer, winter and friendly matches (£374), internal club tournament (£133) and social events (Sunday and End of Season do) (£213).
Money was spent on the free coaching in April (£140) and the Great British Tennis Weekend flyers (£38).
