Park's City Connect challenge is well under way. The aim of the challenge is to promote walking and cycling to help tackle the climate emergency.
Whether it's travelling from A to B, getting some exercise, or a day out, cycling and walking is a great way to support your mental and physical health. Cycling and walking can also save you time and money, and it helps reduce air pollution and congestion, helping make our villages, towns and cities better places to live and work (City Connect, 2022).
Activities completed by our members so far include scaling an Icelandic volcano, cycling on the Stage 4 Tour of Britain cycle race route from Redcar and more recently, walking off the calories - only to put them back on again with a well deserved lunch in Hebden Bridge.
The City Connect challenge began in August 2022 and ends in February 2023, so there’s still plenty of time for members to get on their bikes or go walking.
43 members signed up for the challenge, and we’re looking forward to receiving more photos and feedback on their adventures.
Well done, everyone!
