Dear All,

In light of the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, we have made the decision as a management committee to cancel ALL Spring League matches and all Summer League matches for the forthcoming season.

This was not an easy decision but given the uncertainty surrounding everything at the moment, and following the recent government statements and guidance received from the LTA, Yorkshire LTA and looking at decisions made by other amateur sports including football, this was the only practicable decision we could make.

Whilst we appreciate we are just over a month away from the start of the season, we must finalise the ball order in the coming days, which is several thousands of pounds; many clubs also rely on local schools to be able to play league matches, and given the uncertainty surrounding school closures, we do not believe there is any alternative.

With regards to the Calderdale League tournaments, it is likely a decision will be taken in the forthcoming weeks as we do not have the same pressures concerning ball orders/courts as we do with league matches.

If it looks like the situation might improve we will seek to discuss matters further and look to have league meetings wherever possible with a view to trying to get some tennis played this summer.

In the meantime, ALL forthcoming league meetings have also been cancelled.
