Poppleton Charity Xmas Tournament saw scintillating performances from 11 teams battling on court for the Xmas Trophy.

The Crackers Team won with a convincing lead of 19 points. Congratulations!

Tied in 2nd place were the Tinsel Team and the Reindeers Team
In 3rd place came the Turkeys Team; they didn’t quite get stuffed on this occasion!
The 4th place was shared by the Xmas Trees Team, the Baubles Team & the Stars Team – a perfect set of xmas decorations!
The Santas Team came 5th in the leader board
In 6th position was the Elves Team
The Xmas Puddings Team sat  in 7th place
And the Mince Pies Team finished in 8th place

The outfits and accessories donned by players contributed to the festive mood as did the mince pies kindly donated by Poppleton Cooperative Store, washed down with mulled wine.

All the proceeds from the charity tournament are going to local charity SASH UK (Safe And Sound Homes) that works to help provide shelter to homeless youngsters in York and the region. More info here https://www.sash-uk.org.uk
