We are delighted to be able to confirm that we will all soon be the proud owners of a new clubhouse.
Benefits will include:
* Raised base on which the clubhouse will be built to prevent future flooding.
* Level Disabled / Push chair access to clubhouse
* Two home teams being able to have teas together
* New landscaping, block paved pathways
* Double patio style doors opening onto verandah
* Easy viewing from inside the clubhouse and terrace
* Mains clock fitted to gablet above main entrance
* Insulated floor and external walls and ceiling, improving heat retention
* New fitted kitchen, with hot and cold water
* Two new extendable tables with modern chairs
* Club storeroom
* New large coaches storeroom with exterior access
* Additional storage within loft space
There will be a certain amount of disruption during the build, but our aim is to keep this to a minimum, whilst ensuring we can all still continue to enjoy playing tennis throughout.
Our current timetable is as follows :-
Existing clubhouse will be taken down w/c 1st May
New foundations will be completed by w/c 13/5
New Clubhouse will start to be built w/c 20/5 until end of June.
From beginning of July Portcullis TC will then begin internal painting, decorating and fitting out the kitchen.
Landscaping, building new paths and steps will commence as from end June and take approximately 2 weeks.
If anyone would like to offer assistance, or has a particular skill such as being an electrician, plumber or landscape enthusiast/gardener, then we would really love to hear from you.
This project has been funded partly using club funds, but also with donations and grants for which we are very grateful, but as we will all be able to enjoy this new facility, then it would be great for as many of us as possible to be involved. As with all builds, timings do alter, but we will let you know should the timetable above change significantly.
