The Club

The Club originated on a single court, known as Manor House Tennis Club, at the former council offices. It relocated to the Wootton Bassett Sports Association’s Gerard Buxton Sports Ground, Rylands Way, in the 1970s where, through members' efforts, the single court evolved into a floodlit four-court facility.

We are now an eight-court facility at the 'new' Gerard Buxton Sports Ground, just outside the town, on the north side of the B4042 Brinkworth Road, SN4 8DS. This is a new postcode so beware of satnav directions.  Members inaugurated these courts on the afternoon of Saturday, 22nd August 2015.

Our eight all-weather courts are floodlit; we play throughout the year.

RWBTC membership includes integral membership of Royal Wootton Bassett Sports Association (RWBSA) with its changing rooms with showers, spacious bar and function room.

Fun Tennis
The Club provides a full programme of tennis, catering for all standards. For adult members there are two evening Club Sessions per week, for social tennis, on Wednesdays and Fridays throughout the year, a number of fun tournaments at weekends and Bank Holidays or on Wednesday evenings, and Closed Championships during June/July.

League Tennis
The club is a long-standing member of the Swindon and District League and during the summer season we compete three evenings a week with Mixed, Ladies’ and Men’s teams. We enter teams at all levels to give all members the opportunity of competitive tennis. In addition, we enter teams in the local Mixed Winter League. Juniors have the opportunity to play in the National Junior Leagues and may be invited to play in Senior teams.

Quality
Royal Wootton Bassett Tennis Club is LTA Registered, providing an enjoyable, safe and inclusive tennis experience whatever your level of interest.  We are always looking to improve so your feedback is important to us, in person or via the addresses on our 'Contacts' page.

Policies: some can be viewed here. In addition, paper copies of all of our policies are held in the white ‘Policies and Procedures’ folder inside our courtside cabin (in the top drawer of the units, nearest the window).  A smaller selection of policies is on the noticeboard on the back wall of the cabin.

Safeguarding/Welfare concerns: our Club Welfare Officers are Liz Lewis and Emma Jayne Dyer (see Contacts page for several ways to report a Concern).
