Tennis at The Weld

 

The government has issued on 12.5.20 new advice for engaging in restricted sporting activites such as Tennis. Playing tennis can take place under new guidelines which aim to prevent the spread of COVID 19 while allowing people to be physically active. https://www.lta.org.uk/globalassets/news/2

 Further Club Advice  is

 

Generally, players should:

Not play if they have any symptoms of COVID19 or have been in contact with someone who has developed it within the last 14 days.

Come to court ready to play- there are no changing facilities available.

Ensure the padlocked is closed upon entering and leaving the courts- even if other players are on site. Only paid up members will be given the code.

Bring your own water bottle, hand sanitiser or wipes for use before, during or after play.

Bring your own tennis balls which are marked; use your own racket

Keep 2m distancing rule and change ends at opposite sides of courts

Avoiding picking up balls; instead use your racket to return balls to other players

Book the courts using Clubspark and be mindful of others who may be waiting to play.

Prior to playing ensure that your equipment is fit for use (check your shoes, grips etc) and that you have warmed up to avoid injury.

Juniors must be supervised on Court by parents

Take rubbish home with you, including the tops of new tins opened!.

The courts are accessed through a gate at the eastern end of Court 1

Clubhouse

The clubhouse should not be used except in emergencies. There is a first aid kit in the kitchen although members are encouraged to bring first aid kits.  If you need to use the clubhouse, please wipe the keypad and handle with wipes located on table outside and observe handwashing advice.

Floodlights- There is no access for using the floodlights at the moment.
