Junior player profile - Ethan Carter

My name is Ethan Carter and I’ve been playing tennis since the age of 4-5 years old.  I enjoy playing as it makes me feel calm.

I started playing at The Avenue near Emsworth and when we moved to Meon Valley, myself & Dad joined Swanmore Tennis Club about five years ago.

I’ve really enjoyed improving my skills with Mike’s Monday & Saturday sessions and also with Bash in his Sunday class.
Being a member of the club has been great for me; participating in the annual parent & child tournament, Junior U14 team & winning their 2019 U14 Road to Wimbledon tournament.  I’ve recently been entering match play to boost my LTA ranking, which is currently 9.2.

As a deaf tennis player, Bash was really helpful by making us aware of the LTA deaf tennis pathway.   I currently attend a deaf tennis development weekend at the LTA National Tennis Centre, Roehampton every three months, with training from LTA national deaf coach, Catherine Fletcher.  This has been so much fun and helped me work on skills alongside my coaching at Swanmore. I played at the LTA Junior National Deaf tournament, winning the 2019 mixed doubles.
