Meet the Team

Tennis Squad Leadership Team

All our senior/lead coaches are LTA-qualified, DBS-checked, First-aid trained and have received safeguarding training.  Just as importantly, they love tennis and are engaged in regular training and development to grow the game at all partner sites.

Tennis Squad Leaders

We're passionate about the value of volunteering in tennis, from supporting club committee management to our youngest on-court support.

The Tennis Leaders Award is an LTA initiative for juniors aged 13+ to get involved in tennis coaching as well as other areas of the club including competitions and events management. After sitting a 1-day course (which we run every winter season), Leaders are able to bank volunteering hours by supporting their coaches at a weekly mini tennis session, recording their sessions in our Leaders Website (https://tennisleaders.wales). As various milestones are passed, Leaders qualify for rewards incuding a touchtennis racket, hoodie, financial support with the Level 1 course and entry to a Leaders Wimbledon Ticket Ballot. Tennis Leader volunteer hours also qualify for the Duke of Edinburghs award and Welsh Baccalaureate. Alongside these rewards, the leadership programme has been invalubale in helping our young volunteers increase their confidence, communication skills, tennis knowledge, awareness of club activities and sense of responsibility. Some have even progressed to become Head Coaches in their own right!

For our most committed and passionate Tennis Leaders, there are opportunities to progress to become a Tennis Squad Senior Leader. This is our own unique mentored programme, with a wider choice of volunteering options plus paid working opportunities.
