After another record-breaking season on the courts, we are delighted to develop our team further to support the continued growth of our clubs and the increased range of tennis services on offer.  

The organisational restructure sees Senior Coaches Rob Gaunt and Tom Cole promoted to new roles as Heads of Mini Tennis/Ladies Tennis/Workforce and Junior Tennis/Men’s Tennis/Disabilities respectively, with Programme Director Robert Wedlake growing the provision for Competitor Players alongside his role shaping the company vision and supporting coaches and committees.

Luke Difranco and Joanne Rees progress to become Lead Tennis coaches, each assuming more responsibility for day to day operations including events management. The team is supported further by its club committees, assistant coaches and tennis leaders plus external management consultants and performance specialists.

Tennis Squad operate coaching programmes at Penarth Windsor, Llantrisant, Barry Athletic and Llancarfan Tennis Clubs and also coordinate activities for the Cardiff Stars Learning Disabilities club alongside various park, community and school sites. We adopt a ‘Coaches who Care’ approach to help develop the person as well as the player, with squad players grouped based on their playing aspirations as well as age and standard.
