Play Brave

I came across the PlayBrave sports wear brand at The Boodles Tennis Tournament, a warm-up grass tournament for players needing grass practice before Wimbledon. I was impressed with their range, and so bought some sample coaching gear to play in. I'm still impressed, great cuts, but more importantly, I love their Brand Philospophy. Herewith a snapshot of what they're all about:

PlayBrave Philosophy

"Life is all about right now, the moment, this very second and the instinctive choices we make, and sport is the epitome of this philospophy.

When you are break point down in a tough match and you have the chance to play a winner, do you take that chance with the confidence of a champion or do you play it safe and give your opponent the chance to play a winner against you?

Do you take the shot at goal when you have that fleeting chance or do you pass to a team mate? Do you drive for the green or lay up short to avoid the bunkers?

Sport is all about being as good as you can be throughout each and every moment and having the concentration and confidence to use your skills to their full extent in spite of the pressure.

The philosophy requires bravery, the bravery to control your fear and to play freely without the tension that fear imposes.

PlayBrave."

How cool is that? Even their logo is cool... Check out what they have to say about it"

"The shield itself represents the protection that we all need from life's daily challenges and from the elements.

The diagonal line through the shield represents all sports... It could be the try line, the goal line, the base line or it could be the fine line between a goal and a save, an ace or a fault, victory or defeat...

The small circle or 'boss' in the very centre of the shield represents right now, the immediate challenge, the very point you are competing for, the ball itself, the zone - and the absolute focal point of your maximum mental and physical effort.

The damage to the top edge of the shield represents the scars of life - and the reality that even the greatest champion cannot expect to go through life undefeated or unscathed.

On the contrary, greatness is forged from adversity and the pain of defeat.

Every player needs a shield".

Isn't that just a great sporting philosophy and brand?
