The teams for this match were Nick and Chris as team A and Luke and Sonny as team B. It was a good match with nice games with some that were evenly matched, and we had lovely weather for our first home match.

Nick and Chris’s first match against Newquay’s A pair was very close with Veryan winning both sets 7-5. Their second match was won as well but more comfortable with 6-2, 6-4 win but both pairs gave a good fight.

Luke Sonny managed to beat Newquay’s B pair 6-3 in both sets with some games with many deuces but eventually managed to win their way through. Against Newquay’s A pair it was a slow start but managed to figure out how the players worked and walked away with 3 games in the first set but unfortunately in the second set couldn’t keep the ball rolling and lost 6-3, 6-1.

It was still a very enjoyable match and with a win for Veryan with the final score being 8-2 to Veryan and everyone enjoyed the food afterwards that Veryan had put out and after this match we are 4th in the league and hopefully we can keep up the good results.
