To all members.
The government and the LTA yesterday gave the go-ahead for tennis to start up once again, at English venues.
So, from 10am tomorrow morning, our club at Waterfall will re-open, but with several conditions:
A) LTA allows for clubhouse to open for WC facilities etc. But ours will NOT be open, as we do not have sufficient sanitizer products at the moment etc to keep it clean.
B) The external tap will be available for hand washing, and soap will be provided. All players must wash hands before and after play.
C) Net heights are not to be adjusted.
D) Chairs are to be removed from courts.
E) SINGLES MATCHES ONLY - unless all 4 players in a doubles match live in the same household.
The total number of players playing simultaneously on courts 1 and 2 is to be four. ie two singles matches, or one doubles match, in which case the other court must remain free.
F) All courts will remain unlocked during the day.
G) Social distancing to be observed at all times
H) No use of the ball machine atm.
I) Players should bring, and use, their own marked tennis balls.
F) Please book your intention to play at the club, using the website Court Booking function. Book a maximum of 2 hours, and add your name. This will reduce potential overcrowding of people waiting to play. ie "Bob and Pete, court 2, 15th May, 10am to noon".
G) We on the committee are delighted that tennis is able to restart, but all members must appreciate that the risk to public health is still high. Consequently, any member noted as not complying will be contacted by a committee member and face a potential suspension of their membership.
H) All court bookings must be made through the website Booking section so we do not have any crowding or double bookings. It is free to book for all members.
Thank you, and enjoy your return to playing the game we love 😊
